Becoming...

I choose now to write A thought about Thoughts, a tale about Feelings. How I wanted to, But, did not speak up or express. I chose, but, To be hurt, To feel betrayed, Disappointed,   by The ones I thought never will Defeated in every path, I chose Stopped time I did, Flipped a few pages back, And stared at life, As an outsider, a stranger With no judgment… I wanted to And failed To say no, to opine To choose differently To be happy and Not carry the burden of My choices. I chose the sorrow, I chose betrayal, I chose yesterday, I chose today. I chose to become. Alas! Time waits for no one, I lay with my eyes open, On a bed of choices and doubts. Pages of life turned to A tomorrow with hope, New paths to pave A path to a new Becoming…

Master of None (?!)

And I keep returning to the blogosphere with one thing or the other. Here goes another cryptic mess here. Are you the master of your choice?  Bright and vibrant eyes, A soothing voice, Helpful demeanor, Subtle yet present curves, A shapely dress, Highlighting them all, As if she wasn't already attractive enough. She called out to him, Gently nudging for attention, From time to time. No matter how big the crowd, He ogled at her unabashedly, Never let her out of sight, Or an arm's length. She wasn't new in his life, Nonetheless, she managed... To morph in many ways From time to time Just for his attention And he, for her Diabolical, was she? One fine day… He sat with his back, Turned away from her, Like he cared - For the world around him. As he looked up and around, All that was left was... Burned bridges, Withering flowers, Fallen leaves, Decadence of life as he knew it And an insignificant ray of hope. ...

Me, myself & joy....

My back faced the window at The Brew Room. I was engrossed with a few spreadsheets and documents. My coffee arrived. The girl with a very subtle smile on her face served it and was pleasantly shocked when I said thank you and smiled at her. So much so, I could see a small amount of blood rush to her thin, long and meek face that brought an involuntary smile across it.  She turned back and walked away to avoid further eye contact.  In some time, the sun, as it went about it's day moved further west and shone through parts of the windows of the coffee shop. The tree cover and the sun rays had a battle of sorts while the shadows played along. I had youtube dishing out AR Rahman's melodies one after the other. I suddenly felt a warmth on my back. A few sneaky rays of sunshine diffused through the gaps in the leaves to make it in and bring new life into my workplace. I took off my earphones, sat there observing the cheerful people around me and the near perfect day.  ...

Tears of Joy

With the Gods shedding tears of joy As they witnessed two souls in pristine indulgence She ran into the covers of his arms As if it was her cocoon, her shell, her happy home He held her like there was no tomorrow Like he never wanted to let go She looked up into his eyes As she felt his lips close against hers Filling a void, closing a gap, turning their being into one...

Kaadhal Konden (In Love I fell...)

Sirpi thedum udhvegamai...  Oviyan varaiyum karpanaiyai...  Kavignan thedum vaarthayai...  Padaippavanin kuraiattra selvamai...  Kanden avalai..  Konden kaadhalai.  TRANSLATION: To help my non-tamil speaking friends get a gist of the poem. As the sculptor's inspiration, the painter's imagination.. the poet's words, the Creator's flawless creation.. Appeared she,  In love I fell.

Shades of Joy

The sun went down as she sat there, The wind caressed her face, And her hair danced around like it'd found a beat She hid her lovely eyes with the back of her palm. She squinted a little as she sat there, Until he approached the side.. Becoming the shadow she would hide behind.. As he looked deep into her eyes, He knew what he saw was what was meant to be Not today, Not the present, but for eternity...

The Bar Raiser...

A man whose wit and humor keeps people smiling all around. I am almost mighty sure I get a large chunk of my creative side from him. Eternally busy and socially engaged, certainly there's a huge influence he has had in the man I am today in every way.  A small write up to say thanks and how much I love and respect the man!  Every time I think I have gotten closer You raise the bar further… When I feel like I’ve woken up a better person  Your smile reassures me there miles to go before I sleep With every victory and any accomplishment Your composure reminds me to stay humble.. The greatest lesson I ever learned,  Wasn’t taught in any school I went to You taught me, how there would be something to learn From everyone I will meet through the journey of life You showed me how to respect every woman I would meet, I would date, I would work with, I would befriend, I would grow up around You lead by example, on how we were equal in every way ...

Identity

Because everyone we meet know impacts us in one way or the other as much as we want to believe we are all immune to external stimuli. A gentle reminder of who I will always be and how the journey of life will evolve one second at a time. .. Some have loved Some have left Some have hurt  Some have cared  Some I miss Some I don't Some I believe  Some I fight Some have touched Some have nurtured Some have impressed Some have shared All have made a mark Everyone's a part of who I am The great I look up to The good I emulate The bad taught me not to be There's very few that bring hope, Who make me want to believe.. For who I continue to dream, Who will search with me for the pot of gold at a rainbow's end, For who turn my world magical... Who will ride with me the Unicorn of Hope,  Into a perfect sunset at the Elysian Fields...

The Unsung Song

I saw her cry, I saw her smile I saw her go through life for a while I saw her fail, I saw her succeed  All with her hand in mine in times of need I stand before her making a vow, to the woman in a veil ... We said we do and were wife and husband In this whimsical journey of life unplanned... Nothing could stop us, not the sun, not the snow We darted ahead leaving our world in tow.. Excitement and fun filled without a moment bland  Traveled the world and painted it red  With not a care in the world we did tread  Somewhere along we lost our way indeed Left us wanting more out of life and in greed Opening up a void, as all the joy and happiness bled We sought help, we prayed to the one above  Only discontent, but still deeply in love With each other, we were still alone  Passionate about life, still forlorn Until one day She had a new glow... Moons later our tiny bundle of joy came along  In our house a...

The Tease...

Any easy puzzle I presume. Leave me your comments on how you much you agree with this.  Alright, here's another one I wrote over the last weekend. Let me know what you think.  She walked into my being like it was her right... Nothing mattered, the thick of the day or the solitude of the night She left when she felt like, for stop her I could not Bringing life along and leaving behind naught.. I sit by the shore feeling her presence, from dawn to dusk letting my thoughts take flight...

Because...

Because there was human There was flaw Because there was flaw  There was forgiveness  Because there was forgiveness  There was hope  Because there was hope  There was dreams Because there was dreams  There was reality Because there was reality  There was deceit  Because there was deceit There was heartbreak  Because there was heartbreak  There was...

Mystery Maiden

Losing battles I was, dusk to dawn And over again..  Futile were all my efforts to win So I ran... She seemed to follow me everywhere... Every time I looked, I floated away... Deeper in her thought... She held me in an inexplicable trance,  I couldn't take my eyes off... She vanished at will... She wouldn't wave goodbye.. Forlorn I looked for her, come dawn, to no avail... She came back slowly but surely, Giving me glimpses... Of her beauty, of her glow... For she was a reflection, a shadow.

The Stranger

Her dark hair danced in the gentle breeze, As I watched from a table across from hers, It grazed her cheek back and forth, giving away glimpses of her blue eyes... She ran her fingers through her hair, tucking it behind the ear, Throwing my heart into flutters. The air was filled with her fragrance.. She sat there sipping on her coffee... Little did she know, I was in my heart dancing, A dance she and I were in... For I was falling deeper in love with every passing moment. She looked at me and waved... I had caught the corner of her eye... I smiled back and left my table, to go to hers As I walked towards her, the mind went mute... For I knew not, what to say.. A countless number of butterflies I felt... She spoke away...as I sat there nodding weakly, Mustering all the courage I had left... I asked to have dinner with me...she nodded, Waved a gentle goodbye and vanished into the madding crowd We met soon after and again... And again...

The Facade

Waves pounded his heart over & over, For it craved and pined for things that were impossible. He cried in the rain, For he could hide his tears from his world. He was weary of being, For he had to hide behind his façade every wink. Hope was the only thing that kept his heart whispering. For reality was now a distant dream. Everyone in his clueless world gazed at him with pride, For having known him all these years. His heart screamed out aloud for help, For his face always put up a brave smile. He surrounded himself with people, who loved him, For he tried to fill an abysmal void. He wanted unselfish love, For he was tired of all the fiction. He lied to the world, For he couldn’t see them grieve. He cried in the rain, For he could hide his tears from his world. He broke down and let go once & for all, For he couldn’t live a lie any more. Waves pounded him over & over as he drifted away into the distance, For ever ...

The Brother’s Find…

“Oh Jason, stop eating your sister’s head right now. Or…”. He stopped what he was doing, looked up at his mom and said, “But, Ma, I found…”   stopped short and walked out into the darkness of the alleyway they lived in. The sister sat smugly, gnawing away at the human brain her brother had found.
